Why Choose Hanson Associates

Clients regularly share that they appreciate our proactive approach providing solution-focused direction, skilled feedback, and helpful tools built around a counseling/therapy model that will encourage you in personal and relationship health, healing, and restoration.

We specialize in working with adult clients dealing with issues of relationship challenges (marriages and couples), life transitions, divorce recovery, career changes, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, abuse and trauma, and a lost sense of direction.

Solution-Focused Approach

a respectful, collaborative, solution-focused approach addressing the whole person

Individual Counseling

Solution-focused, cognitive therapy is a time-effective, cost-efficient approach to individual counseling widely used for many personal problems such as depression, anxiety, fear, trauma, prolonged sadness, and stress management, just to name a few. Solution-focused, individual therapy can help you regain the sense of control in your life, offer insight for managing difficult emotions and provide new ways of approaching old or persistent problems.

Marriage/Couple's Counseling

Our goal is to provide couples with the tools necessary to address beliefs, patterns of behavior, and current and past hurts, which prevent them from reaching and maintaining their goals and dreams. We accomplish this through careful assessment from a solution-focused perspective, providing direct feedback with practical suggestions and coaching in tools and resources including exercises and/or brief readings between sessions.

Discernment Counseling

Discernment counseling is a targeted approach for “mixed agenda” couples where one partner desires reconciliation and renewal of the relationship, while the other partner has expressed consideration of ending it. Discernment Counseling acknowledges that couples who have different motivations, yet are faced with a crisis or decision point, may actually be hampered through methods of traditional marriage counseling.

Online Counseling Telehealth

Online counseling / telehealth is the use of audio and video technology to provide counseling/coaching for clients at a distance. This includes the in-office specialties we address daily such as stress, anxiety, relationships (marriage and couple’s), parenting, depression, addictions, sleeping, trauma, anger, family conflicts, grief, religion, self-esteem and more.
